Home Remedies to Heal Dry Facial Skin

As if having dry skin isn't an irritating thing to begin with, your eyes pop out as well when you see how expensive the "best" products to treat the problem with are, and you find yourself drying your wallet instead.

But don't be discouraged, there's still a solution available that for some reason we've all neglected, and that solution is using home remedies to heal dry facial skin. Not only are these home remedies usually available within every household, I would dare say they do a better job than the overpriced, chemically induced commercial products, and of course most importantly, they're inexpensive.

Dry skin is most common during winter, as there is not much humidity during that time.

For some, it could be because their sweat glands do not create enough moisture, or perhaps their skin is unable to maintain water very well for various reasons.

Below are some of the best known home remedies for healing dry facial skin,

I've only included ones that I know for a fact work.

1. Olive Oil

Olive oil contains very skin friendly ingredients such as Vitamin E, and Vitamin K, and is a natural Anti-oxidant., and was even used by Egyptian women in order to maintain a healthy skin thousand of years ago.

How to Use Olive Oil to Treat Dry Skin: Apply a small amount of olive oil after you shower, but do this before you dry yourself off.

2. Avocado

Avocado is filled with rich oils, and Vitamin A, C, E, and several B-Complex, and is filled with beneficial oils and too many good things to mention.

Besides rejuvenating and moisturizing the skin, the Avocado can dissolve any dirt that is blocking your pores, but first you need to create a very simple Avocado facial mask.

How to Make an Avocado Facial Mask: Take half an avocado and mash it and prepare to use either after you've taken a shower, or you've rinsed your face in lukewarm water. Apply it on your face using a sort of circual massage. Leave it on for about fifteen to twenty minutes, and remove with warm water.

3. Almond Oil

Almond oil is commonly used by massage therapists because unlike other oils, it isn't greasy and is not absorbed by the skin too quickly, plus it has a nice sweet aroma. It can be found in any health store and is quite inexpensive. It contains some of the most important nutrients for a healthy skin, such as:

Vitamin B1, B2, B6, A, and important minerals. It is multi purpose as it also helps treat dark circles under the eyes, stretch marks, chapped lips and even as a mosquito repellent.

*Before you learn how to use almond oil. it is important that you make sure you don't suffer from any form of nut allergy, as that could be dangerous.

How to Use Almond Oil to Treat Dry Skin: First, put a few drops of almond oil on your face, then rinse your hands in warm water and massage your face. Leave it on for about five to ten minutes, and then remove it using a damp washcloth.

4. Oatmeal

Creating an oat meal mask not only helps with dry skin, it also helps relieve razor burns and sun burns, as well as various acne problems. What oat meal does is not only clean the face from dirt, but actually helps keep the face from losing water which in turn keeps the face healthy and moist.

How to Make An Oatmeal Mask: In order to make the best oatmeal mask you will need to mix it with a few simple ingredients, milk and one ripe banana, and of course... oatmeal.

First, mash one ripe banana, and add it into a bowl, add a cup of oatmeal into the same bowl and mix it well. Add warm milk to the mix and spread it on your face. Leave it on for about 15 minutes, or if it is starting to harden around the edges.

The classic possibility of just combining oatmeal with warm water is always an option.

Just add a small amount of warm water, enough to create a paste, and apply it on your face.

When it begins to harden just rub it off, and enjoy the results.

Tips On Preventing Dry Skin:

- Improving your water intake is perhaps the best way to fight dry skin, make sure you drink at least 8 glasses of water a day.

- Use warm water as opposed to using hot water, or try to limit your shower time.

- Are you using the right soap for your skin?, some soaps are filled with chemicals, which while making you smell wonderful, have a terrible effect on your skin. Try switching to a natural soap, perhaps you can just use soap less frequently,.or consider moving on from using soaps altogether.

- Exercising releases sweat which unblocks your pores, which in turn helps the natural moisture from your skin to reach the surface and protect it.
